Piano Dolly - What is One Anyway?

I get this question all of the time. Whenever I am at a cocktail party or out with friends and they ask me what I do, I tell them I sell Piano Dollies. I get a blank stare right back at me. Give me a few minutes of your time and I will set the record straight for the world to see what a piano dolly is and why it is one of the most useful tools on the planet.

Piano dollies, plain and simple, are tools used to move a piano. They take lots of shapes and sizes and can vary quite a bit in their actual function but the general concept is the same for all piano dollies - they move pianos.

Grand Piano Dollies in the shape of a spider are probably the most popular kind of piano dolly that exists. Most grand pianos at a church, club, music hall or hotel will need to be moved at some point. The grand piano dollies are spider like and extend from a central point out to each leg of a piano. They are installed by lifting each area around the leg of a grand piano, typically with a hydraulic lift, then by placing the dolly under the wheel. Once that task is completed for each wheel the mechanism is tightened and the piano dolly typically remains on the piano for life. The new wheel set is attractive, is out of the way of most of the people looking at the piano and makes it very easy to roll the piano to any new destination you desire to take it. The wheel can be locked when there is a desire to have the piano remain stationary for a time. The wheels are easily unlocked with a simple press of a toe against the clip on the wheel to free the brake.

Many schools have upright pianos that have a dolly permanently attached to the piano to make movement in the classroom much more manageable. Most pianos do not come with wheels so the dolly sets are important to allow teachers to have maximum control over classroom configuration.

For a professional mover of pianos, a piano dolly is a must. Pianos can weigh up to half a ton or more and they are large enough to cause injury if not moved properly. Piano dollies can help a single person to come to a house, pick up a piano and move it out of the house, down steps and into the moving truck. The piano dolly not only makes the job of moving a piano much easier, it makes it much quicker as well.

Piano Dolly sets can also come as simple caster wheels in hard plastic cups that are placed over the end of each of the legs of a piano. These type of dolly sets are much less expensive and can accomplish the same task of helping to roll the piano to another part of the room or building.

What Is the Electronic Throttle Control System?

Once, cars were simply composed of many mechanical systems that worked together to help you steer, accelerate, and brake. Then, several of these components became hydraulic systems, such as power steering. Now, however, cars are slowly becoming a fusion of mechanical and hydraulic systems plus computers and electronic systems. This includes the electronic throttle control system, or ETCS.

The ETCS uses about six wires to electronically combine the gas pedal and the engine, replacing the older mechanical model. As you depress the gas pedal, the wires send electrical signals to rev the engine, leading to increased speed. Overall, electrical control systems can increase efficiency and lifespan of the parts while cutting down on maintenance and overall weight of the system. Additionally, researchers believe that less weight and higher accuracy through electronic control technology will increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

However, this technology, also called drive-by-wire, x-by-wire, or even just by-wire, has its drawbacks. Many people are suspicious of this drive-by-wire technology because they say that the software can fail at any point in time, much like a random crash on your computer. Additionally, wiring can become corroded and faulty, leading to a short-circuit failure.

In fact, the recent Toyota sudden acceleration problems may be due in part to problems with the electronic throttle control system. Some people argue that short-circuiting the ECTS can lead to uncontrollable engine revving and acceleration. However, Toyota stated that this short-circuiting can cause other car types to suddenly accelerate as well, which does not make it unique to Toyota's brand.

Still, since neither Toyota nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration knows the exact root of the sudden acceleration problem, it is important for Toyota to explore all possibilities, including ECTS failure. This way, future sudden-acceleration incidences can hopefully be prevented.

If you have been injured due to a Toyota sudden-acceleration accident, you may be entitled to financial compensation to help you with your pain and suffering.

Today's Hydraulic Shears

Shearing refers to the process by which part of a metal plate is removed by applying a tool through it at a high level of pressure. There are several different types of shear machining that are available. Two common types are punching machines, which make small discs, and blanking machines that are used to make small metal items such as washers.

There are distinct differences between shear machining and ordinary direct tool machining, and you should be aware of these. Ordinary machining uses a single or multiple point tool to remove cuttings from a metal sheet or block. In order to reach the required dimensions, the tool is used repeatedly on the metal until the desired result is obtained. Shear machining uses the tool's cutting edge to remove metal from the plate. This tool rips the metal from the plate as extreme pressure is applied. The metal plate is contacted only once by the tool.

Hydraulic or mechanical machines can perform shear machining. Hydraulic shears are the ones you will want to use for accurate, quick cutting and scoring of metal sheets. These shears are most efficient for factories with high volumes of metal fabrication. Shops needing serious intense pressure quite often prefer hydraulic shears. Advantages of these shears include low maintenance and continual, quick, quiet usage. Hydraulic shear machines require less space than mechanical shear machines, yet produce the same amounts of pressure.

Because such high pressure is to be applied to it, the metal is held tightly by clamps once it is put into place inside the hydraulic machine. This prevents any shifting from taking place. If you require a smooth and even 90 degree cut, it is necessary to use a squaring arm or back gauge. Grinding the edges can get rid of the tiniest of burrs formed by the blade edge. Hydraulic shears will leave marks from the holding clamps and cutting blades. Although these are small, they will need to be removed or compensated for.

There are a quite a few different manufacturers that make hydraulic shear machines in various models, accommodating a wide variety of plate sizes. You can apply different size metal cuts, and scrap can often be reused. The hydraulic shears that are available today look entirely different from the typical shearing machines of the past. Housed beautifully inside a large stand alone unit, the machine operates very quietly.

Several sets of sharp blades inside the machines are used to cut the metal into specified shapes and sizes. Most people have difficulty comprehending the incredible pressures the machine generates to cut metal within the beautiful compartment. Modern hydraulic shears are usually installed over-floor, so they can be relocated anywhere on the production line as required.

Hydraulic shear machines house all the actual shearing components, however one should still exercise caution while operating them. Keeping the blades sharp will not only maximize efficiency, but it will also prevent off-cuts. Ensure that all moving parts are lubricated and clean. If the right amount of hydraulic fluid is not maintained in the machine, it can lead to damage, so you want to be sure to keep the fluid at the correct level at all times.

Press Brake Dies and Tooling

A press brake is a specific machine tool to bend sheet or plate material. Press brake tooling can come in all different shapes and sizes. Each machine has different ways of applying force. Some use a hydraulic force, servo-electric, pneumatic, or mechanical force. Depending on which force is used, will also determine the speed or impact that is pushed into the metal creating the right angle or shape. Computers have increased the technology of today; the mechanical press is the most commonly used. It is the most accurate, as well as creates the most power. The mechanical press along with the backgauge can accurately position the material so the press brake will bend at the right place, and the right angle.

Press brake dies are all different allowing different jobs to be performed. There are 90 degree dies that are often used for bottoming operations. Depending on the angle will depend on the best die to use. Air bending dies will help you to get the obtuse angles, 90 degree angles, and even the acute angles. Air bending will just depend on how you adjust the ram on what kind of angle you will get.

Different Dies Used in Press Brake Tooling

There is a large range of dies that can be used with the machine to create the right design that is needed. Some of the common tooling dies are: v-dies, rotary bending, 90 degree, acute angle, gooseneck, offset, hemming, seaming, radius, beading, curling, tube and pipe-forming, four-way die blocks, channel-forming, U-bend, Box forming, Corrugating, multiple-bend, and rocker-type dies.

There are press brake dies called hemming dies. These are two stages in the process which will use an acute angle die, and it is followed by a flattening process. Curling dies are perfect for things that need to have a coiled edge. This could be similar to a tube and pipe forming dies but it is different. Larger tubes are formed wrapped around a mandrel.

A box can be made through press brake tooling. In this case, you will use the punch in different sections to get the right angles that will make a rectangular box. The punch that is used during this process will need to be high enough that will accommodate the height of the sides you would like the box to have.

Although there are so many different dies, the V-dies are the die that is most often used. They come in all different sizes and openings. This will give you the right angle and shape depending on the metal you will be using to bend.

Press brake tooling is used often in metal working. It is one of the tools that most people cannot be without if they are in the metalworking industry. Having the proper machine to get the outcome you are looking is extremely important. It is also crucial to make sure that the machine you use is designed for the type of metal you will be using it on. Not all machines are made the same way, and you need to make sure that what you are looking to accomplish is using the right tool. The proper machine is crucial to get the right one you need.

Hydraulic Press Brakes The Exceptional Features

Hydraulic Press Brakes

Hydraulic press brakes are more flexible and higher capacity than mechanical, hydraulic brakes, because the pressure can be controlled piston. A pressurized fluid can be programmed phone calls and speeds in the field, if any. Depending on the cylinder stroke lengths of 250 cm or 100 can be easily obtained by hydraulic presses. The number of images may be up to 600 minutes, such as rapid cutting.

There are three types to choose from: classic, NC and CNC. In traditional machines, stroke length and speed can be adjusted manually, which means that the action is based on the operator's experience and knowledge. In CNC, the feeding program, the NC control, which is attached to a hydraulic press. These programs control machine parameters. CN feature decreases rapidly for a bike ride for all the work that the installation time. They are therefore very suitable for this type of repetitive work. CNC, computer program, which the press brake only. Bulk operations are possible, the emergency brake, press the program by changing the settings on your computer.

Work in the United States pressed for the maximum capacity of 50000 tons. This is much bigger than the die can be up to 18000 tonnes. As the hydraulic press cylinders may have more breaks, you can fully programmed in RAM, but the power to distinguish the timing and vacuum holder.

The number of rotating components is based on the minimization of a hydraulic press, which reduces maintenance. The machine is a hydraulic fluid, which acts as a lubricant through. Since the liquid to lubricate the engine does not always spend less components, which means less time and money on maintenance. Welded steel frame provides strength, less vibration. Search for the brakes to provide a lot calmer and easier.

Piston, cylinder and guided tours are the only moving parts are hydraulic press. Also, wear-resistant materials are used in brakes. Lubrication also helps reduce damage.

Adjustable-angle corners are installed on the hydraulic press. Manually press the correctness of the work's ability to adapt to these areas have been simplified. E holds the piston stroke, an electric bike. The indicator shows the length of the race.

people say the safety brakes press operator does not need to worry about security issues. Hydraulic press brakes in accordance with the safety of almost all of the design and manufacture, since it can be a large capacity and easy to install .
